This means no phone numbers are required at any point.

On Germ DM, users have the ability to manage what information is shared, who can initiate conversations, and what notifications are received.

• Share Your Link: Connect securely and instantly with any iPhone user by displaying a QR code or forwarding a link. This feature works even for individuals who do not have the application yet. Give it a try!
• Burners, Finstas, or Spam: Create multiple profile cards to share with different contacts. Other users will only see the profile cards that have been specifically shared with them. Each card is customizable with its own name, profile picture, and pronouns that can be adjusted as needed.
• Do Not Disturb: Easily manage your notifications on a per-conversation basis or based on which profile card you have shared, giving you the ability to silence or unmute entire conversation groups simultaneously.

• Private: All data stored and shared on Germ is encrypted end-to-end using standardized Messaging Layer Security. This means that only the intended recipient can access the information — not even the developers.
• Access Control: Utilize invite links to regulate who can find you and for how long. Opt for a single-use link for maximum authentication security or share links valid for up to 100 uses for easier connections.
• Stalker-Resistant: The app never suggests users to others. Additionally, Germ is not linked to phone numbers or discoverable usernames; as a result, if you block someone, it can be permanent.
• Deception-Resistant: Card update histories enable users to adapt how they present themselves, track their connections, and shield against fraudulent individuals.
